HEART Retreat 2021

I was very pleased to be invited to speak at the Northland HEART Retreat this year. My topic title is ‘A Simple Life, Richly Lived’.

And it will be an opportunity to look at some encouraging thoughts, ideas and philosophies of the Christian educator and philosopher, Charlotte Mason, and learn more about how to foster a rich and peaceful home culture with minimum clutter and confusion.

Most homeschoolers have heard the name of Charlotte Mason even if they know little about who she was or why homeschooling parents are interested in her.

Charlotte Mason was a Christian teacher, philosopher and writer who was born in the UK in 1840 and lived there until her death in 1924. Wisdom is timeless, and almost a hundred years after her death we can still learn much from Charlotte’s philosophy and her methods of teaching.

At the HEART retreat this year I will be unpacking some of Charlotte’s ideas and beliefs to see how they apply to us as homeschooling families, and in particular as mothers in Christian homes. I am really looking forward to being there, and to enjoying the company of homeschooling mums as we encourage each other in our mothering, home making and home teaching.

I will have a few copies of my  books available for sale at the special price of $25 each.
